In the English Premier League two of the top sides will go head to head in the Manchester Derby as Manchester United vs Man City takes place on Monday 8 April 2013 at Old Trafford. United have a 15 points lead at the top of the table and if they can win the match they will have their hands on the Premier League title just an year after when Man City clinched the title from them in the dying moments of the season. According to United players and manager that was the lowest point of their career but they have well and truly put that behind and showed city that form is temporary and class is permanent. Although United have suffered in the other competitions but in the league they have been ruthless to say the least. It would take an even more spectacular collapse than they managed last season to see Alex Ferguson's men miss out on winning the Premier League this season, and having exited the FA Cup and Champions League, they can focus fully on regaining the title.
Ferguson will be disappointed by the manner of his side's exit from the FA Cup on Monday, but keen to continue an unbeaten run in the league which stretches back into November. Jonny Evans, Rafael, Wayne Rooney, Paul Scholes and Nemanja Vidic will all aim to be fit for the big game after recent injuries, while for City Matija Nastasic and Jack Rodwell could be in contention but Micah Richards and Maicon seem likely to miss out.
Local derbies between these two teams have been high scoring in recent seasons - their last five meetings have yielded 23 goals, with the latest finishing 3-2 to United. If this game is to be as high scoring then you would expect Robin Van Persie will have to end his current run of appearances without a goal - nine games is a long time for the prolific Dutchman. City concede a higher proportion of goals from outside the area than any other Premier League side, so perhaps taking the opportunity to test Joe Hart from range could put the ex-Arsenal striker back on track.

Possible line-ups:
Manchester United (Probable, 4-2-3-1): De Gea; Jones, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra; Carrick, Anderson; Valencia, Kagawa, Young; Van Persie.
Manchester City (Probable, 4-2-3-1): Hart; Zabaleta, Kompany, K Toure, Clicky; Y Toure, Barry; Silva, Tevez, Nasri; Aguero.
